So, there's this book. It is entitled "101 Questions before you get engaged." Do not ask me how Peterso and I got our hands on a copy of such a book. It's not like my roommate owns anything like that. Nor are we snooping. Clarification: Noelle has not written in this book, therefore we are not being invasive. Right? Not that Noelle has this book, not that she doesn't... disclaimer over. Back to the book. And the questions.
Question number 100 (as in there have been 99 questions leading up to this one) is "How many times have you been married (including any annulments)?" We just really feel like probably an almost engaged couple should have been over that one.
#60: What are your financial responsibilities and goals? What debts do you have? Have you ever filed for bankruptcy?
Peterso: my current financial responsibilities are paying for books, all living expenses, and half of my trip to Italy. My parents are very good to me. Goals? To be able to live on my own.
Spades: well I would be paying for my car, if I had one. I have an allowance for living expenses and I am responsible for if I go over that amount. So I have to keep a record of my expenses. My goals are to be able to take on all expenses and help pay off my school loans.
also, collectively, Peterso and I have filed for bankruptcy 7 times. Does it count as bankruptcy if the whole country is in a recession?
#65: Who are you? (how would you describe who you are to another person)
Spades: I am a promise. I am a possibility. I am a promise, with a capital p. I am a great big bundle of potentiality...
Peterso: I am a C. I am a CH. I am a CHRISTIAN. and I have CHRIST in my HEART. and I will LIVE ETERNALLY.
yes, our answers were preschool songs. that is how close we are to being engaged. for the record.
#26: How has your relationship with God changed in the last 5 years? How has your partners relationship with God changed?
(get ready for our mini-therapy session)
Peterso: I have grown a lot in the past 5 years (she's so specific).
Sadie: I got a driver's license and drove to Virginia where I started school and for real trusting God.
As for our partners' relationship with God? It has been pretty stagnant for them.
#94: Do you like animals? What animals would you love to have as a pet? How would you work it out if your partner wanted an animal and you didn't?
Sadie: I LOVE animals. Not as much as I love my partner, of course. Who exists. But I do LOVE animals. Right now, seeing as how I live in a dorm room, I can't have any pets (except for fish that end up dead anyways). I would LOVE a dog. Named Naomi. or Ruth. They're both good. And my partner can... deal.
Peterso: I <3 class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> like a golden (retriever) and since my partner is non-existent...
#53: Everyone brings baggage into a relationship. What baggage are you bringing and would it fit in an attache case, a carry on bag, a small suitcase, or a trunk?
Jill (who has now joined us): a semi-truck load full of a trunk, many small suitcases, too many carry on bags than allotted (as in it wouldn't fit in that stupid little box thing they have sitting out in the terminal being all like "be respectful and only use up this much space" what is that?) and one attache case, whatever that is.... I don't actually have that much baggage. Clothes? yes.
Peterso: Due to my large quantity of prior relationships, I would have to say I would be bringing a small suitcase and a carry on bag plus a personal item.
Sadie: My mother always said only pack as much as you can carry.
#40: What was your last relationship like, and what are three reasons you're confident the relationship is over and you can move forward?
first of all, *chirp* *chirp* *chirp*
secondly, let's just say we can be sure the relationship is over because they probably never happened. And we can move forward because, quoting how to lose a guy in 10 days "you can't lose something you never had..."
#75: What television programs and movies have made an impact on your life and in what way?
Noelle: *chirp* *chirp* *chirp*
Jill: why do you think I don't have a boyfriend. Where do I begin? There have been so many. First and foremost, Friends. I can't say any more because it gets me choked up. Wedding Crashers... yet another reason I'm not walking down the aisle. My secret obsession with Twilight (peterso: not so secret) is not so secret because I am actually dating Edward Cullen. I'm overwhelmed. There are still so many... um...(she gets choked up here). (Later, when Jill gathers her wits) I used to watch Arthur in middle school then my dad banned it and I was so sad...
Peterso: If by impact you mean distract me from school work then just about anything that comes on. That's the extent that television has impacted my life. Sadie has ruined my life with 24. And by ruined I mean allowed me to waste more time.
Sadie: Sadly enough, television and movies are a hub of my family dynamic. And when I say "sad" what I really mean is I love it. It's a constant dialogue of quotes we have going as a family. So I can't pick just one. But for now I'll say Bad Boys (II) and 24 have been the most impactful.
#19: What are you beliefs about prenuptial agreements?
Jill: WE WANT PRENUP!!! WE WANT PRENUP!!!
Noelle, we would like invites to the wedding. Preferably a position on your court. Or party. WE WANT TO BE BRIDESMAIDS!!!!!!! and we love you. And don't kill us.
